Explore Benton Harbor

The beautiful port city of Benton Harbor is located along miles of Lake Michigan and the St. Joseph River. This shoreline offers a variety of outdoor activities such as fishing, swimming, boating, or relaxing on one of its soft, sandy beaches.

When exploring the lake front you'll want to visit Jean Klock Park, which is located right off Lake Michigan. Drive along the St. Joseph River and you will find several boat launches and fishing platforms.

The Blossomtime Festival is one of the oldest multi-community festivals in Michigan. It is held the first Saturday of May, and 2010 will mark its 104th celebration. The Grand Floral Parade now lasts some two hours and boasts of over 125 units including floats, bands, clowns, costumed characters, antique cars and tractors and much more.

Emerging downtown is the Arts District, home to Galleria del Corazon, studio of renown sculptor Richard Hunt and the Water Street Glassworks, whose lead instructor, Jerry Catania, learned glassblowing under Dale Chihuly.
